600番台文系教養科目について

2016（平成28）年度4月以降の入学者（社会人学生も同様）は、博士後期課程修了までに、博士課程600番台文系教養科目を2単位以上履修する必要があります。「越境型教養科目」または「文理共創科目」のいずれかを選択し、履修してください。（なお、外国人留学生は、日本語・日本文化科目の履修をもって、文系教養科目の履修に代えることができます）


●越境型教養科目（2単位）

越境型教養科目は、異なる学院の学生と共同で調査研究を行い、その成果発表を行います。授業内容は、毎年少しずつ変わっていますので、シラバスを参照してください。


開講日程

越境型教養科目は第２Qと第４Qに開講されます。いずれかのQで履修してください。原則、全部の回に参加する必要があります。開講日をシラバスで確認してください。


履修者数制限

履修希望者が履修制限人数を超える場合には、シラバスで指定された期日までに履修申告した学生を対象に抽選を行います。そのため希望するQに履修が認められるとは限りません。履修制限した場合は、抽選対象者にメールでお知らせします。履修制限しない場合は特にメール連絡はしません。履修制限で抽選に外れた場合、第１回講義日に来ても履修を認めません。また、個別の要請や指導教員等を通じた抽選結果の変更の依頼は受け付けません。



●文理共創科目（2単位）　

※2022年度以降に入学の学生は、1単位の科目は履修できません。

文理共創科目では、各分野の第一線で活躍するゲストを招き、ゲストによる研究発表とディスカッション、履修生によるグループワークを行います。コンバージェンス・サイエンスの新たな展開と可能性を模索します。


開講日程

1Q〜4Qに開講されます。開講日程や時間帯が変則的な形で設定されている場合があります。シラバスで開講日時や履修条件について、必ず事前に確認してください。


履修者数制限

履修希望者数が定員を超える場合は、教務Webシステム上の履修申告状況に基づいて人数制限（抽選）を行います。人数制限（抽選）は「初回授業の実施日より前」の所定の時期に実施されます。各科目のシラバスに記載された期日までに、必ず履修申告を行ってください。

Humanities and Social Science Courses (600 Level  Courses)


Students who enrolled in April 2016 or later, including working professionals, are  required  to complete at least two credits of 600-level Humanities and Social Science  Courses to  fulfill the requirements for the doctoral degree program. Please select and  take either the  “Cross-Boundary Liberal Arts Course” or the “Collaboration across STEMand Liberal Arts”.

(International students can take Japanese Language and Culture Courses instead).


●The Cross-Boundary Liberal Arts Course

This course creates a forum for discussing topical issues and conducting joint research  among students from different disciplines and departments. Students are required  to  give  a group presentation based on their joint research. The program may be modified  from  year to year. Please check the syllabus for details.


Attendance Requirements

This course is offered in 2Q and 4Q. Students may take the course in either quarter.  Students are required to attend all classes. Please check the syllabus for class dates.


Registration Restrictions

There is a limited number of spots available in each course. If the number of applications  exceeds the limit, a lottery will be conducted to determine admission. As a result, your  application might not be approved for your preferred quarter. In such cases, you will be  informed of the lottery result via email. If enrollment  does not exceed the limit, no  notification email will be sent. Please register for the course by the deadline specified in  the syllabus. Students who are not selected in the lottery cannot be registered even if  they attend the first class. Please do not request changes to the lottery results  personally or through your academic advisor.



●Collaboration across STEM and Liberal Arts

These courses invite guest speakers who are active on the front lines of their respective  field. The courses include research presentations and discussions by the guest speakers,  as well as group work by the students. Through these activities, students will explore  new developments and possibilities in interdisciplinary approaches, in other words,  “convergence science”.

※ Students enrolled in AY 2022 or later are not allowed to take one-credit courses in  this category.


Course Schedule

These courses are offered from 1Q through 4Q. The course schedules may differ from  the  regular course schedules and timetable. Please make sure to check the course  schedule and registration requirements with the course syllabus in advance.


Registration Restrictions

If the number of applicants for a course exceeds the course capacity, registrants will be  selected by lottery based on the registration status on the Web System for Students and  Faculty. The lottery will be conducted during the designated period prior to the first day  of the course. Please make sure to complete the course registration by the deadline  stated in the respective course syllabus.
